History

Founded in 1909, Zulu is one of the most historically significant Black Carnival organizations. Its coconut throw is so prized that handing (not throwing) is the safer tradition.

The classic Carnival corridor. The vast majority of major parades roll here - up Napoleon Avenue, along St. Charles Avenue, and down to Canal Street.
